Hey there, I'm Sharla
I have been as a youth leader almost every year of my adult life within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently serving as a stake Young Women president. I am a mother, wife, business owner, dreamer, instigator and believer.

Story Behind the Girl
My Savior has taught me not to fear. From a young age, He promised me I did not need to fear loneliness because I was baptized into a church fellowship. I now know I do not need to fear inadequacy because I can repent—again and again. I do not need to fear worthlessness because of the destiny described during my temple ordinances. I do not need to fear death because of the knowledge provided during my endowment. I do not need to fear isolation because of the sealing of my family. I do not need to fear losing my way because the Holy Ghost, my prophet, and the scriptures guide my steps.
Christ has promised that we do not need to be afraid of what lies ahead. Instead, we should acknowledge the consequences of our actions as Latter-day Saints, as members of Jesus Christ’s own Church, and as parents of Christ’s future leaders. Christ is asking us to be braver, more confident, and to go and do those things we are prompted to do. He knows the future will require a firmer faith. He is asking us to be more spiritually resilient.
As a stake Young Women president, decade-long youth leader, and parent of three teenagers, I felt an urgent responsibility to find the answers to their questions. I felt I needed to find a better way to prepare my daughters for a future that can be bright, but unpredictable. How can we prepare to be consistently faithful? Nephi was tried and faithful from a young age, so was Mary, Daniel, Esther and Mormon. What did they know? How did they do what they did? I have been looking for answers to these questions so I can help my children and yours.
I’ve learned that spiritual resilience is what helps us consistently turn to our Savior while facing the weight of struggle, doubt, and sin. Each time we put our trust in Christ we will find that our reliance on Him is justified. He is lifting us, supporting us, and teaching us in personally relevant ways, line upon line. He is preparing us for greater spiritual reach by adding layers on top of our steadfast and immovable foundation. He will provide the knowledge how we need it, when we need it, when we ask for it, and when we take the steps to be worthy to receive it.
